Meditation, Pranayama & Deep Relaxation

Meditation is a beautiful ancient, healing practice that has truly become as normal in the Western world as it is integral in the East. Why? Because it is truly healing. Because practising meditation can actually shift us from a place of dysfunction and unhappiness to a place of centredness, peace and prosperity.

Pranayama is the science of breathing. Prana means breath, respiration, life-force, vitality, energy, and strength. Yogis say that all disease starts in the pranic body. So, if we want to heal the body, we must do it through the breath.

Deep relaxation comes when we can finally release whatever we are holding onto deep inside. We will explore the "how to" of this interesting challenge.

In this intensive, we will:

  • Explore the nature of the mind
  • Learn about the connection between the breath and the mind
  • Explore the benefits of all kinds of meditation & pranayama
  • Learn many meditation techniques – some with silence, some with mantra & chanting, all with asana and mudra
  • Learn many pranayama – breath techniques
  • Explore focus, concentration, tratakum
  • Develop personal practices that we can take home to help with whatever we are struggling with and wanting to heal.
  • Discover that still, peaceful place deep inside of each of us – that meditative centre that is the goal of all meditation – that Self that is wise and peaceful and happy.

This weekend-intensive is excellent for anyone who is interested in exploring meditation, pranayama, and relaxation. No experience is necessary!

This is Module III of the SOUL OF A TEACHER Teacher training.
