Susan Whalen

Susan was introduced to yoga over 40 years ago and has been fascinated with the exploration of the practice ever since.

When she moved to Goderich in 1992, her yoga teacher, Bernie Bauberger encouraged her to pursue certification and become a qualified teacher.

Susan completed her initial Yoga Teacher Training at Kripalu Center in Lenox, Massachusetts in 2000 and received her Advanced Teacher Training Certification  in 2005. Susan has been teaching yoga in Goderich for the past 10 years. www.kripalu.org

Kripalu yoga methodology guides you at your own pace honouring your body’s needs in a compassionate, non-judgemental way. The focus is on the details of alignments & coordination of breath with movement.

Susan continues to study and broaden her teaching skills, and has taken trainings in various styles of yoga such as Anusara, Vini Yoga and Yoga Therapy.

Her philosophy is that yoga must serve the individual needs of each student. She leads her students to their personal inner experience so you may discover your own yoga practice.

Yoga is 99% practice and 1 % theory. Susan encourages and invites everyone to experience a yoga class, and believes there is a style of yoga that is suitable for you.

Susan also offers private sessions to help with whatever your individual situation may be.
