Coffeehouse featuring Tom Savage and David Celia
It would be hard to argue that Tom Savage isn't one of the hardest working musicians in the country these days. Over the past four years, this Kingston, Ont., musician has released three recordings of original material, performed over 600 shows, and toured Canada several times.
Savage's newest release, Live at the Acoustic Grill, is a continuation of the defiant, individualistic road-weary music that he made with his last acoustic CD, Never Shed No Tears. With the release of his latest disc, Savage continues to think outside the box, deciding to record a live album of almost exclusively new material. His dirt road, country folk, blues-style music has had an overwhelming response from his live shows and acclaim from both his fellow artists and fans. With this album, Savage replicates the live bar room feel that lends itself well to his music, which is somewhere between Bruce Springsteen and Guitar Town-era Steve Earle.
Joining Savage for this night of great music is David Celia. A recent review calls Celia “completely charmful...contemplative...wonderful atmosphere...you will like him immediately...Like a warm embrace from a good friend.” Categorized as roots-pop with hints of folk, Celia’s classicism manages to cross genres and ages. Lovers of folk music and fans of pop will equally be charmed.
