In this short afternoon workshop, Prince Edward Island singer Teresa Doyle will introduce us to chanting, a singing practice that simply feeds the soul moving the brain our of stress of beta to a more relaxed brain wave state. Chanting is a core part of the yoga tradition and these beautiful melodies have been sung for centuries. Join Teresa for two hours of music and gentle movement. No singing experience necessary. Teresa Doyle has been performing and teaching for 25 years. She is endlessly searching for new vocal colours, exploring the vocal expression of cultures around the world and studying with singers who are pushing the boundaries of the human voice. She studied voice facilitation with Chloe Goodchild in Dublin, and is currently enrolled in a three-year study program, The Yoga of Sound, with South Indian master Russil Paul. She has given voice workshops in Mexico, Colorado and Ireland, and has groups of students in Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, Guelph, Ottawa, and Whitehorse.
